The Phoenix Academy Terms and Conditions

 Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as booking a course with The Phoenix Academy confirms that you have read and agreed to our Terms and Conditions. The following Terms and Conditions are effective from January 15th 2026.

 Bookings

  • To book into a Phoenix Academy course please use our online booking system for the following courses:
  • Fully online courses
  • Scheduled public courses
  • For corporate bookings please contact us on admin@phoenixacademy.ac.nz. We will provide you with a registration form to complete
  • If you wish to make multiple enrolments for the online courses please contact us and we will assist you
  • Fully online courses are prepaid prior to login details being issued
  • For public face to face courses payment is required prior to the class date to confirm a place in the class
  • Places are booked on a first come first served basis so if payment is delayed and the class is full, we will assist you to book for another date

Payments

  • Payments can be made by credit card or bank transfer. Please select which option you require when making the booking
  • Unless by prior agreement, we do not provide invoices. However we are able to provide a tax receipt on request
  • Invoices must be paid within 7 days (unless by prior arrangement)
  • Two reminders will be sent after which the debt will go directly to a collection agency without further notice 

Cancellations, withdrawals and refunds

  • The Phoenix Academy reserves the right to reschedule courses if minimum numbers are not reached. If a course is cancelled or postponed we will rebook you onto a future course at no cost. However should you choose not to continue, a full refund of fees will apply
  • If you notify us of cancellation or non-attendance more than 7 days prior to the day of the course you are entitled to a partial refund. An administration fee of 20% will apply and this will be deducted from your refund. However if you still wish to attend a class, you will have one opportunity to rebook providing space is available, without incurring any further fees
  • If you withdraw from the course less than 7 days before the class date and up to 48 hours before the class starts, no refunds are available. However, you will have one opportunity to rebook providing space is available, without incurring any further fees
  • If you withdraw within 48 hours of the class, there are no refunds available and a full fee must be paid to re-enrol
  • If you do not turn up on the day for whatever reason, there are no refunds and a full fee is required to re-enrol

Online/virtual courses

  • To undertake either fully online or virtual classes, you must have a laptop/pc and a good internet connection
  • The Phoenix Academy does not permit the use of phones or tablets to complete any of the virtual class/online assessments. If you are found to be using one of these devices you will be stood down and must pay a full fee to re-enrol
  • For fully online courses you will have 60 days to complete the course after which a full fee will be payable to re-enrol

Face to face classes

  • If you are attending a face to face class you must arrive 15m before the scheduled start time
  • If you arrive more than 15m after the scheduled start time you will be stood down and required to pay a full fee to re-enrol. This will be strictly enforced
  • For Health and Safety reasons please do not book into a class if you are rostered on a night shift the day before the class
  • Closed in footwear must be worn when attending all face to face classes
  • If you are unwell for any reason, please do not attend the class as you will be denied entry if you are sick. Please contact the office as soon as you can to discuss a rebook and whether any additional charges are applicable
